I was thrilled to collaborate with Claudine and Philip Blythman on this striking eyeliner-focused story for Zero Nine Magazine. More than a makeup concept, it’s a visual tribute to subcultures, music, and identity – themes that have shaped my creative journey from the very start.
Before working in fashion, I spent years immersed in Kyiv’s alternative music scene – curating content, interviewing artists, and supporting live shows across the country. That raw, DIY spirit still defines the way I work today: always attuned to the cultural context behind a look, always seeking to tell a deeper story through beauty.
This shoot was an extension of that ethos. Our model Dayne Monique captured the energy of the scene – romantic, independent, and driven. My hairstyling was designed to amplify that mood, using texture and a fake yet natural-looking fringe to reinforce both narrative and attitude.
My goal on set is always the same: to bring both concept and character to life, in a way that resonates with audiences and serves the vision of the team. I’d love to take part in more documentary-style shoots like this – where hair, character, and context come together to tell a real, emotionally layered story.
